I need to start writing down/posting all my theoretical cosmology theories and hypotheses because I’m beginning to realize that I’ve been beaten one too many times in terms of who thought of what first.
Amphigory am’fi-ge-ree, n (French amphigouri, of unknown origin)
A nonsense verse. Specifically, a poem designed to look and sound good, but which has no meaning upon closer reading. The term ‘amphigory’ could be applied to large segments of modern poetry, except that its authors probably actually believe that what they are writing is something other than a meaningless trifle.
Something that can also be used to describe 99% of the cliche’d poetry, verses, and notes written on miscellaneous photographs/artwork and accessories, which are then photographed with a “vintage” filter, and then uploaded on tumblr to gain intellectual or philosophical respect.
Elliott Smith - “Miss Misery” (Early Version)
I got plans for both of us
That involve a trip out of town
To a place I’ve seen in a magazine
That you left lying around
I can’t hold my liquor but
I keep a good attitude
Because it’s all right, some enchanted night
I’ll be with you

On June 5, 2012, Venus will pass across the face of the sun, producing a silhouette that no one alive today will likely see again.
Transits of Venus are very rare, coming in pairs separated by more than a hundred years. This June’s transit, the bookend of a 2004-2012 pair, won’t be repeated until the year 2117. Fortunately, the event is widely visible. Observers on seven continents, even a sliver of Antarctica, will be in position to see it.
